The workshops are delivered in our training facilities in Nottingham City Centre.

Who is the group for:

Qualified practitioners who are wanting on-going advanced professional development and are interested in:

  • Wanting to develop their supervisory and/or teaching skills.
  • Sharing ideas, theories, and application
  • Writing or publishing
  • Obtaining supervision hours
  • Acquiring CPD hours
  • Exploring new theory and creating ideas
  • Receiving and giving supervision of supervision

Aims of the group:        

  • To experience on-going stimulus, support, feedback and significant relationship with colleagues.
  • To provide continuous professional development (CPD).
  • To discuss and develop Psychotherapeutic theory and methods.
  • To keep up to date with and contribute to developments in the Psychotherapy organisations.
  • To get supervision on clients, ethics, training, and professional issues.
  • To develop and discuss training programmes.
  • To learn, discuss and practise different approaches to supervision.
  • To get supervised supervision.
  • To learn teaching methodology, share teaching techniques and resources.
  • To get supervision on teaching.
  • To prepare and practice teaching and conference presentations.
  • Research and writing projects in Psychotherapy.

Group facilitator:

Deborah is a UKCP registered Clinical Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Trainer. She holds a MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and is a Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA), and a Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (TSTA). Her early career began working in a Forensic setting where she was fortunate enough to be trained as a group facilitator and remained (eventually working part time in) for 24 years running therapeutic groups. Deborah is passionate about working with those clients who experience marginalisation in society and have difficulty accessing mental health services. She has worked in a variety of therapeutic settings, including the NHS and private practice working with individuals, couples and groups. Deborah is particularly interested in the growth and developmental of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and the sharing and critiquing of theory, knowledge and clinical application. Deborah is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society, a member of UKATA, EATA and the ITAA. She is currently an Editorial Board member – Taylor Francis for the Transactional Analysis Research Journal, an Organisational member External Assessor for UKCP/HIPC and a committee member of UKATAs Training and Accreditation standards committee.

Fees:

Annual fee for membership of the group is £600 (SPTI Members) or £660 (Non-Members). A payment of £300 is required to secure your place.

Students may pay in two instalments (instalment fee applicable). This course does not attract any funding such as advanced learning loans. Please note: Applications must be withdrawn at least two weeks prior to the first workshop for refunds otherwise participants will be liable for the full amount.
